Competing against some of the finest young tennis talents, Kaustubh, who was seeded 3rd in the singles category, put forth an exceptional performance throughout the tournament, showcasing his prowess and resilience on the court.
An Impressive Journey in Singles
Kaustubh made a stellar start to the tournament, displaying his dominance right from the opening rounds. In the first round, he secured a commanding 6-0, 6-0 victory against Shaurya Singh, followed by an equally impressive win in the pre-quarterfinals, where he defeated Samarth Bhatnagar with the same 6-0, 6-0 scoreline.
Advancing into the semifinals, Kaustubh faced the tournament’s 2nd seed, Rohin Raj. Undeterred by the challenge, he delivered a near-flawless performance, winning 6-0, 6-1, and securing his spot in the much-anticipated final.
In the final showdown, Kaustubh encountered the top-seeded player, Sanidhya Dwivedi, in a thrilling match. Despite his remarkable efforts and strong gameplay, he narrowly missed out on the singles title, with the final score reading 6-7(4), 2-6, placing him as the runner-up. His commendable performance against the top seed highlights his potential and determination to excel further in the sport.
Doubles Glory – Kaustubh Clinches the Title
Kaustubh’s pursuit of victory did not end with the singles event. He teamed up with his singles rival, Sanidhya Dwivedi, in the doubles category, where they were awarded the 1st seed due to their exceptional ranking and performance.
Their journey in the doubles competition began with a bye in the first round, allowing them to focus on their quarterfinal match against Anay Srivastava and Adi Chandra. The dynamic duo dominated the match with a flawless 6-0, 6-0 victory.
In the semifinals, Kaustubh and Sanidhya maintained their winning momentum, securing another impressive win over Vaibhav Saroj and Rishant Jaiswal with a score of 6-0, 6-2, earning them a place in the final.
Facing the strong pairing of Rohin Raj and Arjun Sharma in the final match, Kaustubh and Sanidhya delivered a decisive performance, emerging victorious with a convincing 6-2, 6-2 scoreline to clinch the doubles title.
